Creating Real Equity in Sports on and off the Field

Wednesday, May 18th

11:00 AM EST – 12:00 PM EST

Online

In spite of extensive research surrounding desired outcomes, increased productivity, and organizational effectiveness through diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), individuals from underrepresented groups regularly face barriers that can prohibit athletes from accessing their full potential. For example, women on average make drastically less than their male counterparts in the five most popular sports, basketball, golf, soccer, baseball, and tennis sports. Additionally, although members of underrepresented and minoritized groups make up the majority of athletes in sporting leagues, there is a severe lack of organizational representation in leadership roles such as assistant coaches, head coaches, general managers, and CEOs.

DEI & You Consulting will host and moderate a conversation on creating real equity in sports on and off the field by focusing on gender pay inequity and organizational representation issues.

Panelists:

  • Sara Toussaint, Partner & Managing Director at Underdog Venture Team and Co-owner of NC Courage, NWSL
  • Mike Taylor, Associate VP of the NBA’s Team Marketing & Business Operations

Moderators:

  • Dolores Crazover, Founder and CEO at DEI & You Consulting
  • J. Israel Greene, LSSGB Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Consultant | Leadership Trainer & Coach at DEI &You Consulting
  • Brett Zalaski, DEI advocate, sports expert, Head of Sales & Business Development at DEI & You Consulting

Topics to be covered:

  • DEI in sports
  • Gender pay inequity
  • The racial disparity among players of color and coaches

The event will be live, and you will have an opportunity to ask questions to these esteemed panelists! Register here to join us on May 18th, 2022, 11 AM EST / 5 PM CET

Hiring and retaining diverse talents in the retail industry

Wednesday, February 16, 2021

11:00 AM EST – 12:00 PM EST

Hiring and retaining diverse talents has proven to be a key factor in indicating performance and innovation. Companies with a diverse employee pool excel in performance and out-innovate companies with less diversity (Harvard Business Review, 2019). In fact, companies in the top-quartile for diversity and inclusion are 33% more likely to financially surpass companies that have a lower diversity rate (McKinsey Report, 2018).

DEI & You Consulting will host and moderate a conversation on hiring and retaining diverse talent with leading experts from major retail sectors including apparel and fashion, athletic wear, luxury, and beauty.

Register here to join us on February 16th at 11 AM EST/ 5 PM CET for a moderated panel including Ryan Quintero (Talent Director at Richemont North America), Crystal Andrews Banks (Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Director at Ulta Beauty), Zahir Babvani (VP of Design at Fullbeauty Brands), Claire Le Compagnon (SVP and Cultural Intelligence Coach at For Athletes) and Brendy Iglesias (People Leader and Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Specialist at Lululemon).

Topics to be covered:

– Challenges and areas of opportunity
– DEI in Retail during the pandemic

The event will be live and you will have an opportunity to ask questions to our esteemed panelists!
